The Iowa Theater is proud to be participating - in a big way - in the 48th Annual Madison County Covered Bridge Festival!

Saturday, October 14

  • 9:00 am to 5:00 pm: Swing by our booth in front of The Iowa Theater to pick up an Iowa Theater mug, t-shirt, tote or purchase one of our antique marquee letters!
  • 9:00 am to 1:00 pm: Bridge Filmmaking Contest selection, playing continuously. Stop in to watch short films from around the world that feature a bridge in some way, shape or form. After you watch, vote on your favorite, which will be played at the Iowa through the end of 2017! FREE!
  • 10:00 am to 2:00 pm: Spot a Star. Be on the lookout for famous Iowa-based movie characters walking the square! Get your Spot a Star card at the gate when you purchase your entrance ticket. When you spot a star, snag a picture with them and get a sticker for your card. Spot them all, fill your card and drop it off at the Iowa Theater’s booth for a chance to win a prize pack from the Iowa!
  • 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Screening of the Bridges of Madison County at the Iowa Theater, followed by a panel discussion with actress Sarah Schmitt Zahn (young Carolyn), Judy Trask (featured extra) and John Reed (assisted with film production). Tickets available now!
  • 6:00 pm: Screening of The Monuments Men at the Iowa Theater, preceded by a sneak-peek of the upcoming documentary “Stout Hearted” George Stout the Man Who Saved Art, featuring special guests associated with the documentary. Tickets available now!

Sunday, October 15

  • 9:00 am to 5:00 pm: Swing by our booth in front of The Iowa Theater to pick up an Iowa Theater mug, t-shirt, tote or purchase one of our antique marquee letters!
