Rent the Iowa!
The Iowa Theater is a wonderful location to rent for parties, board meetings, weddings and special events. The theater has a total of 159 seats: 81 seats and 6 handicapped accessible spaces on the lower level and 72 seats in the balcony. Our stage is 18 feet wide by 11 feet deep. The Iowa is $125 per hour to rent.
We can screen films on our big screen, retract the screen for use of our stage or offer you a little of both: the stage and our smaller presentation screen. Our lower level is fully handicapped accessible and we have devices to assist the hearing or visually impaired. Please note, that after consulting the University of Iowa’s Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resources Center, the Iowa Theater’s Board of Directors made the decision that - as a 501c3 - the Iowa would not host any events, public or private, that were of a political and/or religious nature.
Our historic marquee can also be rented to convey a special message or announcement. Renting the marquee is $75 per side.
Email Iowa Theater manager Scott Smith at manager@the-iowa.com to get the conversation going! Your rental will be tailored to include, as desired: concessions, reception space, event lighting, microphones, etc.

The Iowa serves popcorn with real butter, candy, Coke products, locally produced wine and a selection of beers. Your rental can be tailored to include concessions of your choice.
